AC Troubleshooting

If the AC stops working, follow these troubleshooting steps to identify and possibly resolve the issue:

1. Check the Thermostat

Ensure the thermostat is powered on and set to "cool" mode.
Verify the temperature setting is below the current room temperature.
Check the batteries (if applicable) and replace them if needed.

2. Inspect Power Supply

Confirm the AC unit is receiving power.
Check circuit breakers and fuses in the electrical panel. Reset any tripped breakers or turn off the breaker to the AC unit for 5 minutes, and then switch back on. This helps reset the system.
If there's a power outage in the building, verify when service will be restored.

3. Examine Air Filters

Dirty or clogged filters can restrict airflow and cause the system to shut down.
Replace or clean filters if they appear dirty.
